This is the most common question our team hears. While there is the “Gold Standard” in this industry - which is the remove all porous items from the home and replace them - we understand this isn’t feasible for all families. While mold remediation removes the source/contaminated materials, SPC addresses the fine particulate residue that may have been left behind or redistributed during the remediation process. During the remediation, mold particulates can become airborne and settle on nearby surfaces such as counters, cabinets, floors, walls, furniture, etc. The goal of SPC is not to make the home “perfect” or completely free of naturally occurring particles. Rather, the objective is to clean and restore the affected areas to a normal, post-remediation condition—leaving your home better, cleaner, and more comfortable than it was before.
